About The Procedure
Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K, is a non-surgical and reversible procedure that uses specially designed gas-permeable contact lenses to gently reshape the cornea while you sleep. Upon removal when you wake up, you’ll experience clear vision throughout the day without any lenses in your eyes.
Ortho-K lenses gently reshape the cornea using a thin layer of tear film, applying positive and negative pressure across the corneal surface to mold it to the appropriate shape. When these pressures are balanced perfectly along the cornea, we call it being in a state of equilibrium – that is where its complexity lies as every cornea is different, power correction will differ, and patient’s needs may differ.
